Youth Programming for Children and Teens

Join our TLC: Tikvah Learning Community members for fun, engaging, and meaningful Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur youth services and activities, led by Rabbi Nathan and our interim education director Rabbi Michael.

On both days of Rosh Hashanah and on Yom Kippur, the youth program will run from 11:00am to 1:00pm, and will include a snack. Parents may wish to return with their children to the main service after the youth program to hear the sounding of the shofar on Rosh Hashanah.

Children are also welcome to remain in the main service throughout.  Please remind your children about appropriate behavior during religious services.

On both days of Rosh Hashanah and on the day of Yom Kippur, we will offer supervised babysitting for the littlest set (2 years to pre-K) from 10:30am to 12:15pm.   Toys and stuffed animals will be available, and please feel free to bring your own as well.   Parents with infants are also welcome to use the babysitting room as a quiet place to take a break together.

Yizkor Booklet

Each year, we publish a separate booklet for Yizkor.  This booklet will be used on Yom Kippur as well as the three other Yizkor services during the year on Shemini Atzeret, Pesach and Shavuot.  It combines both the Yizkor service and the Book of Remembrance in which we commemorate the names of departed relatives, friends and other loved ones.

This year, we are offering you the opportunity to honor the memory of relatives and friends by purchasing either a simple listing of names at $15 per name or by purchasing a half page ($120) or a full page ($200).  Just provide the names and content and we will design the page for you.  The order form is attached.

We hope you will join in making these memorials a vital part of our tradition by completing and returning the attached order form (please send in the form by August 25 – yes, really August 25).
